St George’s Grenada (June 19th, 2017) – Akeem “A#keem” Abraham, one of Grenada’s rising popular Urban Reggae/ Pop Reggae, is pleased to announce the official release of his brand new single “In My City”.
A new local sensation with German connection “In My City”, the new release by A#keem, Grenada's fastest rising reggae artist.
"In My City" tells the story of the Grenadian way of life, past and present and the role it has played in shaping the life of every Grenadian.
The song was released across the globe on Tuesday and is now accessible on YouTube and other popular music websites and social media sites..
"In My City” was developed upon a rhythm complied by globally recognized German DJ Densen.
" I believe Grenada is a magical, magical place and just having the privilege to write about Grenada is gonna boost not just myself as a reggae artist but my nation, to let people know more about Grenada and it's rich history, said A#keem", when asked about the inspiration behind the collaboration.
“The first time I heard Akeem's version of the song I was in the Caribbean. People see the connection, positive vibes and the perspective of the island lifestyle. It's truly a love story about his home, family and friends in Grenada. On my next trip I will try and experience it for myself and explore glorious Grenada” said DJ Densen.
“With DJ Densens „City Riddim“ we try to find Reggae Artists that want to sing about their home countries. The idea is to show that the world is a versatile place with many beautiful spots on it. When we first got in contact with A#keem and his management we felt that he could be the perfect fit to add a second song to the „City Riddim“ project. We are happy to see what the people in Germany and Europe think about Grenada and his up and coming Reggae Artist A#keem” said Jens of Urban Tree Music.
Answering the call from the Grenada Tourism Authority GTA for artistes to become more involved in promoting the brand through music, A#keem is hoping that "In My City" will do just that.
He added "men like Malcolm X and Maurice Bishop both have strong roots in Grenada and that's the kind of richness Grenada possesses" and he is hoping that people will extract the positive things about Grenada from "In My City".
The song launch will be followed by the release of the official music video in three weeks.
With his sight of breaking into the European music industry, A#keem is hoping to travel to Europe in the future to further explore the new Grenada/Germany music collaboration.
